A common sight on city roads is seeing it being shared by cars, buses, auto-rickshaws, ox carts, and cyclists on streets. The demands of each vehicle type and modes of transportation have brought about its own set of challenges to road safety.
Government agencies and various organisations have stepped in to improve awareness for road safety and road accident prevention. States that already implemented road safety measures in India have shared their efforts as a benchmark to other states when improving road safety in their cities.
3M’s road safety solutions meet the rigours of city traffic – high compressive strength products and brighter signs keep roads safer for motorists and pedestrians. See some of them below:
• Road hazards at junctions: Road safety issues at junctions are primarily caused by poor visibility of oncoming traffic and insufficient signs to indicate pedestrian crossings.
• Lack of visibility for public transportation lanes: Lack of cautionary signs and lane demarcation for bus lanes can cause collisions when changing lanes.
• Visual clutter and light pollution: These hazards are visually distracting and can affect the safety of the motorists on roads.
